AtlasIED Atmosphere Helps KIJÁ Set the Perfect Ambiance

KIJÁ is a new fine-dining restaurant in Santo Domingo that offers creative culinary concepts blending Mediterranean cuisine with the rich flavors of the Dominican Republic and the broader Caribbean. A thoughtfully curated cocktail program, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that balances sophistication with energy make KIJÁ an appealing choice for everything from celebratory dinners to stylish evenings out.

Creating the right ambiance was critical to the guest experience. The restaurant needed an audio system capable of delivering consistent, high-quality sound throughout multiple areas while seamlessly transitioning from relaxed daytime service to energetic evening dining and live entertainment. KIJÁ collaborated with the local integration firm Musitempo to design and implement an audio system tailored for a fine-dining environment.

To meet these requirements, Musitempo selected AtlasIED’s Atmosphere platform. Combining powerful DSP, intuitive control, amplification, and flexible system management, Atmosphere provided a single platform for managing background music and live entertainment throughout the restaurant.

At the center of KIJÁ’s audio system is the Atmosphere AZM8, an eight-zone DSP that provides centralized control, routing, and signal processing across the restaurant. The AZM8’s advanced DSP capabilities, including ambient noise sensing, automatic gain control, room combining, and flexible routing, gave Musitempo everything needed to support background music, live performances, and future expansion from a single platform.

Programming and system management are handled through an intuitive, browser-based interface accessible on PCs, tablets, or mobile devices via Ethernet or built-in Wi-Fi. Rights-based access allows staff to manage only the controls they need while giving administrators complete system visibility.

To simplify day-to-day operation, Musitempo installed an Atmosphere C-ZSV wall controller for intuitive zone control, along with A-BT Bluetooth wall inputs that allow staff to stream music directly from mobile devices. A-XLR wall inputs provide convenient connections for live performers and guest presenters, while Atmosphere X-ANS ambient noise sensors automatically adjust music levels as restaurant activity changes throughout the day.

To create a balanced, immersive audio experience, Musitempo deployed AtlasIED two-way, compact AS-5T surface-mount loudspeakers throughout the restaurant, delivering consistent, natural sound wherever guests are seated. Their compact form factor and flexible mounting options allowed the system to blend seamlessly into the restaurant’s carefully designed interior while providing wide, even coverage. In-ceiling FAPSUB-1 subwoofers subtly reinforce the low end, extending bass response to 45 Hz and adding warmth and depth to the music without overwhelming conversation. Together, the system creates an inviting atmosphere that complements the dining experience, enhancing every moment without ever calling attention to itself.

The completed installation provides restaurant staff with clearer announcements, improved zone control, and faster access to critical messages. The combination of multi-zone distribution, integrated paging, and automation creates an audio system that supports both everyday operations and emergency needs.
