BAA & TAA Compliance

Buy America Act - Trade Agreements Act

Many AtlasIED products are designed and/or produced in America using domestic and foreign components meeting BAA and TAA criteria.

For those AtlasIED products which may be affected by the small price increase as a result of new federally enforced tariffs, we have developed a list of alternative, tariff-exempt products (compliant to BAA and/or TAA criteria) for consideration. The Buy American Act (BAA) requires Federal agencies to procure domestic materials and products. Two conditions must be present for the Buy American Act to apply: (1) the procurement must be intended for public use within the United States; and (2) the items to be procured or the materials from which they are manufactured must be present in the United States in sufficient and reasonably available commercial quantities of a satisfactory quality.

The Trade Agreements Act (TAA) was passed in 1979 to approve and implement various trade agreements negotiated between the U.S. and other countries to foster fair and open international trade. TAA compliant products can be assembled from parts purchased from these partner countries to meet GSA purchasing requirements.
