Service Pack 12 release of GLOBALCOM/CONTROLKOM (GCK v12.0.8).  What software/installers/packages to use depends on one's starting point, listed here as Installation Options A, B, and C.  

Service Pack 12 does require running the GCK SP11 Prerequisite Software Installer.  This installer will check to see if any of the GCK SP11 prerequisites are missing.  It will install any prerequisites found missing. 

It is also recommended that all Dante devices controlled by GCK be updated to at least v4.x.

Due to stricter password requirements, the default usernames and passwords have changed.  The new default usernames and passwords are:

gck_admin/gck_admin, gck_installer/gck_installer, and gck_user/gck_user.

Installation Option A:  When upgrading from GCK Service Pack 1 (v1.x) or GCK Service Pack 2 (v2.x), one should follow these steps:

• Run the GCK SP11 Prerequisite Software Installer.  [This installs .Net 4.7.2, 2019 Visual C++ Redistributable 64-bit, and 2019 Visual C++ Redistributable 32-bit.  After installing .Net 4.7.2 you will be prompted to reboot now or reboot later.  Select reboot later.  Do not reboot until the installer has completely installed all 3 items.] 
• Run the GCK Updater Installer to install the latest GCK Updater service.  [It may be necessary to uninstall the GCK Updater in order to run the new installer.  If so, use ControlPanel-->Programs and Features to uninstall the existing Globalcom Updater.]
• Run the SMC HTTPS Updater to prepare your system to support active directory/LDAP login and HTTPS bindings.
• Apply the GCK Service Pack 12 package.
• Run the latest IEDnet Installer.
• Reboot. 

Installation Option B:  When upgrading from GCK Service Packs 3 (v3.x), 4, or 5, one should follow these steps:

• Run the GCK SP11 Prerequisite Software Installer.  [This installs .Net 4.7.2, 2019 Visual C++ Redistributable 64-bit, and 2019 Visual C++ Redistributable 32-bit.  After installing .Net 4.7.2 you will be prompted to reboot now or reboot later.  Select reboot later.  Do not reboot until the installer has completely installed all 3 items.] 
• Run the GCK Updater Installer to install the latest GCK Updater service.  [It may be necessary to uninstall the GCK Updater in order to run the new installer.  If so, use ControlPanel-->Programs and Features to uninstall the existing Globalcom Updater.]
• Apply the GCK Service Pack 12 package.
• Run the latest IEDnet Installer.
• Reboot. 

Installation Option C:  When upgrading from GCK Service Pack 6 (v6.x) or newer, one should follow these steps:

• Run the GCK SP11 Prerequisite Software Installer.   [This installs .Net 4.7.2, 2019 Visual C++ Redistributable 64-bit, and 2019 Visual C++ Redistributable 32-bit.  After installing .Net 4.7.2 you will be prompted to reboot now or reboot later.  Select reboot later.  Do not reboot until the installer has completely installed all 3 items.] 
• Run the GCK Updater Installer to install the latest GCK Updater service.  [It may be necessary to uninstall the GCK Updater in order to run the new installer.  If so, use ControlPanel-->Programs and Features to uninstall the existing Globalcom Updater.]
• Apply the GCK Service Pack 12 package.

Additional Information and Options

In GCK, there are options for loading user-defined Takes (WAV files) from GCL libraries.  The following libraries are currently available (click on item link):

• Pre-Annc Tone Takes
• School Related Takes
• Smoking-Walkway-Waiting Takes
• Test Tone Takes
• Healthcare Takes
• Silence Takes

Also, the user can put large icons on Events so they appear better on the Paging Console page.  IED has developed some commonly used icons, which are available in the following ZIP file Download Link Here.
