We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer (Digital Circuit Design) with 7+ years of experience in digital circuit design to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing, developing, and validating digital hardware systems, and will play a key role in product development from concept through production.

This role is on-site, 5 days a week. Remote option is not available.

Essential Functions

  • Design and develop digital circuits, including high-speed and embedded systems.
  • Create schematics, perform component selection, and oversee PCB layout.
  • Analyze and debug complex hardware issues across development and production stages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, software, and manufacturing.
  • Perform signal integrity analysis and timing validation for high-speed designs.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including validation and verification procedures.
  • Support prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, and design iteration.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Document designs, test results, and engineering changes.
  • Lead product family architecture design and development.

Essential Tasks

  • Provides support for customer problems/complaints.   This could be in-house, telephone, modem, on site, etc.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve development problems.
  • Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.
  • Prepare project cost and work-time estimates.
  • Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units.
  • Review the work of others within the team and coach as necessary. 
  • Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.
  • Plan method and sequence of operations for developing and testing experimental electronic and electrical equipment.
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic test equipment, comprehensive understanding of electronic circuitry theory.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical PCB design for audio and power circuitry.
  • Interface with electronic fabricators to resolve any production or test issues.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field

Experience

  • Requires a minimum of seven years’ experience in digital circuit design
  • Strong understanding of digital electronics fundamentals (logic design, timing, signal integrity)
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, Cadence)
  • Familiarity with microprocessors, FPGAs, and embedded systems
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, DDR, MIPI-DSI/CSI, USB, Ethernet)
  • Proficiency in hardware debugging using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with PoE including PoE+ and PoE++

Skills

  • Knowledge of power distribution and mixed-signal design
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI considerations and compliance testing
  • Experience working through full product lifecycle (concept to production)
  • Knowledge of / Experience with Analog and/or Digital Audio
  • Knowledge of / Experience with Analog and/or Digital Video
  • Familiar With Lower-Power Class D Audio Amplifiers (<50W)
  • Familiarity with Radio Networking such as WiFi or Bluetooth
  • Familiarity with UL60950 Safety Standards
  • Familiarity with FCC Part 15 EMC Standards
  • Experience with FPGA/HDL design (Verilog or VHDL)
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes and DFM/DFA principles
  • Strong attention to detail and design accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams 

Office and lab-based role with hands-on hardware development.  Occasional support for manufacturing or field issues may be required.
